Gary is the CEO of Cedar Creek Creations LLC. In 2019, after 20 years of insurance sales, he retired. Enjoyed that for a couple days. Then he transitioned to leading our Real Estate companies full time. Gary has a wide and varied background in real estate, construction, and entrepreneurship. He bought his first investment property in 1994, at the age of 28. Under the name GDE Leasing, Gary and Diane purchased and renovated numerous residential real estate properties. They transitioned into Self Storage in 2000 and have focused and expanded in that market ever since. Gary is responsible for strategic direction and managing the activities of all projects.
Gary contributes Management articles to several publications, including Inside Self Storage. His articles are about real life. Fun, with a dash of reality! Gary is also a frequent presenter at Trade Shows and Annual Storage Conferences. Occasionally embarrassing himself, he can be found on YouTube with Self Storage thoughts. (And the occasional "Learn from my Mistake" story)
Gary is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Animal Science. He also has an Associate’s Degree in Swine Management from John Wood Community College.
Diane is the Director of Operations for The Storage Manager. She oversees IT, Call Center, Site Coordinators and Staffing. Diane brings a technical and detail expertise to our team. In this role, she is leveraging her 20 years of creativity and IT experience to increase efficiency and profitability. Her ability to streamline management and implement technology is invaluable. Her input is critical in staffing. She is the much better implementer!
Diane has a degree from Kaplan University in Business/ Accounting.
Gary and Diane have 2 children. Erika, married to Joe, lives in Senoia, GA and has three children. Melanie, married to Aaron, lives in Allen, TX with their sons, Liam and Noah.
